Pune, July 9: In a move to assist thousands of Warkaris participating in the Ashadhi Wari, the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has introduced free mobile charging facilities along the palkhi route in Pune.

The Pune Circle of MSEDCL has deployed two specially equipped vehicles that provide free charging for mobile phones while also creating awareness about various government energy initiatives through audio-visual displays.

The initiative follows directions issued by MSEDCL Director (Operations) Dhananjay Aundhekar, who recently reviewed preparations for the Ashadhi Wari. During the review, he instructed regional officials to conduct detailed inspections of the entire wari route and halt locations to ensure robust electrical safety arrangements.

Accordingly, Chief Engineer Sunil Kakade said MSEDCL has deployed dedicated teams of employees at key locations along the procession route. The staff have also been provided with reflective raincoats to ensure visibility and safety during duty.

The LED screens mounted on the mobile vans are displaying awareness videos on various government schemes, including the PM Surya Ghar Muft YojanaSmart Solar SchemeChief Minister’s Solar Agricultural Feeder Scheme, and the Solar Agricultural Pump Scheme, besides highlighting the benefits of smart electricity meters.

Each vehicle is equipped to charge more than 100 mobile phones simultaneously, offering a significant convenience to Warkaris travelling along the pilgrimage route.

The mobile charging and awareness vans were flagged off by Chief Engineer Sunil Kakade and Superintending Engineer Dnyandev Padalkar.
