Pune: PMC Fines Two Salisbury Park Bakeries ₹50,000 For Unhygienic Conditions And Illegal Wastewater Disposal
Pune, July 15, 2026: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has taken action against two bakeries in Salisbury Park for allegedly spreading unhygienic conditions and illegally discharging wastewater into drainage lines and nullahs.
The action was carried out by the Kasba Peth Regional Office under PMC on July 15 across various locations in Ward Nos. 22, 23, and 24 as part of a joint cleanliness enforcement drive.
During the inspection, Golden Bakery and Indian Bakery in Salisbury Park were found violating cleanliness norms. PMC officials stated that the establishments were releasing wastewater into drainage systems and nearby nullahs without proper authorization, leading to public hygiene concerns.

Following the violations, PMC imposed a fine of ₹25,000 each on both bakeries, amounting to a total penalty of ₹50,000, which was collected on the spot.
The action was conducted under the guidance of Santosh Warule, Deputy Commissioner, Solid Waste Management Department; Madhav Jagtap, Deputy Commissioner, Zone No. 5; and Timayya Jagale, Assistant Municipal Commissioner, Kasba Peth Regional Office. The enforcement team included Senior Health Inspector Rahul Rajgolkar, Health Inspectors Amol Landge, Tausif Deshpande, and Chandravadan Gaikwad.
PMC officials warned that strict action will continue against businesses and citizens found creating unhygienic conditions or violating sanitation rules. The civic body has also appealed to residents and commercial establishments to maintain cleanliness and cooperate with municipal authorities.
