Election Commission Extends Voter List Revision Drive Till August 8; Pimpri-Chinchwad Residents Urged to Cooperate with BLOs

Pimpri, July 22, 2026:

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has extended the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Maharashtra, allowing Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to continue door-to-door visits and collect enumeration forms until August 8, 2026.

The extension was approved after the Chief Electoral Officer, Maharashtra, requested additional time in view of the recent heavy rainfall across the state.

Revised Schedule Announced

Under the revised timetable, BLOs will conduct house visits and collect completed enumeration forms from June 30 to August 8, 2026. The rationalisation and reorganisation of polling stations will also be completed by August 8.

The draft electoral roll will be published on August 17, 2026.

Eligible voters will be able to file claims and objections from August 17 to September 16, while hearings and disposal of claims and objections will take place between August 17 and September 15.

The final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on October 19, 2026.

Citizens Asked to Assist BLOs

The election authorities have appealed to all eligible voters in the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) area to cooperate with BLOs by filling out the enumeration forms and submitting the required documents during home visits. Voters may also submit the forms at their designated polling stations.

Officials said active public participation is essential to ensure that the electoral roll remains accurate, updated, and inclusive.

Commissioner Appeals for Public Participation

PCMC Commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryawanshi said an accurate electoral roll forms the foundation of a strong democracy.

“Every eligible citizen should be correctly included in the voters’ list. The extension provides an opportunity to reach every voter. We urge residents of Pimpri-Chinchwad to cooperate with BLOs, complete the enumeration forms on time, and contribute to strengthening the democratic process,” he said.

Additional Commissioner Vikrant Bagade said all municipal departments have been instructed to implement the revised schedule effectively. He urged citizens to provide the necessary documents promptly so that the revision process can be completed efficiently and accurately.

• June 30 – August 8, 2026: BLO house visits and collection of enumeration forms
