Salman Khan Backs Students Over CJP Protest, Urges Education Reforms and Peaceful Movement
The actor praises students for their peaceful protest against alleged paper leaks, says the movement should remain free from political interference.
Bollywood actor Salman Khan has voiced his support for students participating in the ongoing Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)-led protest over alleged examination paper leaks, calling the movement “peaceful” and urging that it should not be turned into a political issue.
Sharing an old photograph from his school days on Instagram, Salman said he was saddened that a peaceful protest had turned violent. He expressed solidarity with students and their families who were reportedly injured during the demonstrations.
“It was such a peaceful movement, feel so sad that it had to take a violent turn. My heart goes out to the students and their families who were hurt. Paper leak is a very serious issue, and I am glad to know n see that the kids of our country have come together for a better educational system, and their parents supported them.”
The actor praised the students for standing up for educational reforms through peaceful means.
“I truly appreciate the stand they have taken, showing dedication, sincerity, and keenness to study hard n make their future and a greater, educated India. This andolan, this protest, is the right way to go abt it, n the students have done this peacefully. So courageous and brave. Driven and motivated towards education, this generation will make India proud.”
Salman also appealed for the issue to remain focused on education rather than politics.
“This issue is between the students and the educational system, it should not be hijacked politically, the credit should only go to the students of our country, and I am sure the government will also give them all the support n make it a stronger educational system. It’s a win-win situation. Hoping n praying for a positive decision. God bless all of you who wanna be educated.”
Concluding his message, he said education should become the country’s biggest aspiration.
“Education should be the next trend and fashion, and should get trendier n more fashionable yr by yr, itna k bahar se log come to India to study and India becomes an educational hub.”
Salman Khan is among several film personalities who have publicly supported the students’ movement. Actors including Zeenat Aman, Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak Shah, Abhay Deol, Sonakshi Sinha, Riteish Deshmukh and Omi Vaidya have also appealed for peaceful protests and meaningful reforms in the education system.
The protests have continued for several weeks at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi over allegations of irregularities in the education sector, particularly alleged NEET examination paper leaks. Protesters had planned a march towards Parliament earlier this week.
According to Delhi Police, some protesters violated prohibitory orders and refused to disperse despite repeated warnings, leading to police action. However, protesters have alleged that police used excessive force, including lathi-charge and tear gas, and claimed several students were injured during the clashes. Videos circulating on social media have shown confrontations between police personnel and demonstrators.
The protest movement has also received support from social activist Sonam Wangchuk, who joined the agitation earlier this month with a hunger strike. While representatives of the protesters have held discussions with the Central government, demonstrations continue as students seek stronger safeguards against examination irregularities and greater transparency in the education system.
