Hotels, bars, resturants, food courts to remain open from October 5

The state government on Wednesday, September 30 issued fresh orders under Unlock Phase 5 in Mission Begin Again, adding that restaurants can open from October 5. 

With the restaurants and bars reopening, it will be a major boost to the food and hospitality industry which was in a major set back due to the lockdown. 
The statement issued yesterday also mentioned that local trains in several cities such as Mumbai, Pune, Kolhapur should begin their operations for the  better commuting of the passengers. 
Below are the details of the Unlock Phase 5 which was released yesterday by Sitaram Kunte, acting chief secretary. 
What remains prohibited ? 
The notification, issued by acting chief secretary prohibits opening of educational classes, temples which will be opened in phased manner. 


Schools, colleges, educational and coaching institutions, cinema halls, swimming pools, theatres, auditoriums, entertainment parks, Metro rail, international airlines, other than those allowed by the Central government, will continue to be prohibited till October 31. 
Also, social, sports, political, entertainment, cultural, religious functions and large congregations  shall remain prohibited till the next orders are issued. 
Non essential services allowed to resume operations in MMR region: 
As per the notification, all industries and manufacturing units operating in non-essential services in Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), too, have been allowed to begin with their operations.

Hotels, bars, restaurants, food courts to open from October 5 : 
This opening of restaurants, bars, food courts, came in accordance with the recent meeting held by various restaurant owners association who had recently met chief minister Uddhav Thackeray who assured them that they would be soon allowed to open. 
Hotels, bars, restaurants, food courts, shut to operate at 50% of their capacity. The standard operation procedures (SOP) are expected to be issued by the tourism department in the next two days.

Intercity railways allowed : 
Similarly, the state government has allowed operations of trains originating and ending within state limits with immediate effect. Inter-city services between Mumbai and Pune and trains plying between Mumbai, Nagpur, Kolhapur and Sawantwadi will resume services once Railways is ready with its preparations.


Earlier local trains in MMR were running only for essential services workers but now the state government has directed Railways to increase the number of railway services to avoid crowding. At present only commuters from emergency and essential services, including security forces, banking, central and state government, have been allowed to travel on local trains via QR codes. Now, even dabbawalas in Mumbai have been allowed to board these trains. Local services in Pune district too, have been allowed to start with their operations. 
The order also stated that the lockdown in the state shall continue till October 31, 2020.
