Online examination by Savitribai Phule Pune University received severe criticism by the students after its website occurred a major technical issue due to which students had appealed for re-test.
SPPU had accepted the appeal, and even conducted the re-test for the students after collecting the data of the students who suffered issues through a google form.
According to the information given by Mahesh Kakde, Director of examination controller at SPPU, the students appeared half the total number of students enrolled for the re-test. On Nov 5, only 5, 088 students out of 11, 500 students appeared for the re-test. On Nov 06, only 10, 000 students appeared out of 24, 500 registered students. On Nov 07, a total of 38, 900 students had registered out of which only 13, 200 students turned up for the examination. However, the SPPU has warned for a legal action against the students who are indulging in foul play and playing with the rules, regulations and sentiments of the university.

Altogether, 310 students are demanding re-test after the declaration of results. Maharashtra State Welfare Association (MSWA) has received a request from 310 students of SPPU for conducting re-test due to technical glitch in re- test, while few enrolled students claim that they did not receive an e-mail from the university to appear for the re-test after enrolling through Google form.
MSWA stated, “10 students can lie, but how can 300 students sound same concern ? We will follow up with SPPU on the issue as we have personally followed up with all the students.”
MSWA, Mahesh Kakde informed Pune Pulse, “We don’t need interference of any third party organization. We are stable and capable enough to take care of our students.” He further continued, “These students are indulging in foul play. We will verify all the details of those students who are appealing for re-test after the declaration of results. This is not acceptable. If the students are found playing with the university then they will have to face legal trouble. And we are not afraid of any organization’s protest as we have enough data of how students are taking us for granted.”
SPPU successfully conducted the examination even when Nashik, Mumbai and other universities in the state have faced difficultie
