Pune: Firefighters from the Pune Fire Brigade conducted a three-hour training session on fire fighting for 57 personnel under the Indian Army Command Fire Fighting Course today at the Central Fire Brigade Headquarters.

The session included a demonstration of firefighting equipment and an information session on firefighting techniques.

The training was aimed at helping army officers and jawans better deal with fire situations, especially those caused by ammunition. Every year, different groups of the army are given training by the fire department, and query-solving sessions are held.

Nilesh Mahajan, spokesperson of Pune fire department, said, “We had this training of armymen where officers and jawans were present, where we gave them demo and information about equipment as part of their training as they too face fire situations, but mostly that is due to ammunition. The training was for 3 hours and every year different groups of the army are given training by the fire department, and query-solving sessions happen.”
