PCMC Introduces Concession for Timely Property Tax Payments

Pune: In a bid to encourage people to pay their property tax on time, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has introduced a several benefits and concessions for all timely taxpayers.
Nilesh Deshmukh, Assistant Commissioner, Tax Department, PCMC said, “Property tax concessions of PCMC are comprehensive across the country. Special exemptions have been given in property tax to women, disabled persons, ex-servicemen, environment-friendly buildings and honest taxpayers. Along with this, the citizens who pay the taxes online will also get special discounts and this is benefiting the Digital India initiative. We have given concessions to citizens for using digital modes of payment. Citizens should pay the property tax by the end of June and take advantage of the concessions.”
The concessions which will be given to timely taxpayers in June 2023 are:
- 5% concession on common property tax for the payment of remaining property tax
- 30% concession for properties of only women owners
- 50% concession for the properties of people who are handicapped more than 40%
- 50% concession for one property of an army person or his wife
- 5% concession for those property taxpayers who pay via online payment, RTGS, NEFT, IMPS till June 30, 2023
- 4% concession for those who will pay property tax till September 4, 2023
- 100% concession for army persons on taxes like common tax, water benefit tax, road tax and more
So far, the PCMC has collected Rs 232 crore property tax till June 9, 2023 from 1,81,000 property tax holders and it plans to complete a total of Rs 1000 crore property tax collection by the end of this year.
