Katraj Residents Struggle with Water Scarcity as Technical Glitch Hampers Supply Near Rajiv Gandhi Zoo

Katraj residents face water shortage due technical pump fault
Pune :Â The residents of Katraj are currently facing a water shortage during the Navratri festival. This unfortunate situation has arisen due to a technical fault in a pump at the pumping station near Rajiv Gandhi Zoo, resulting in a two-day disruption in the water supply.
Local authorities are diligently working on urgent repairs; however, the distress caused to the citizens cannot be overlooked. The malfunction has severely affected various residential areas, including Sukhsagar Nagar Part 1, Part 2 Rajas Society, Shivashambhonagar Galli No. 1,2,3, Sainagar, Shelarmala, Sukhda Varda Complex, Chaitrangan, Sukhnivas, Hami Park, Ideal Park, and Pawan Park.
The residents, who were already frustrated by the continuous low-pressure water supply, are now forced to deal with a complete water cut. The timing of this utility failure, coinciding with the ongoing Navratri celebrations, has only intensified their frustrations. The lack of prior notice from the authorities, which could have allowed the residents to make alternative arrangements, has been a major point of complaint.
The residents are particularly aggrieved by the inadequate communication from the authorities, as their attempts to contact the water release staff went unanswered, with phones being switched off, leaving them in a state of uncertainty.
