The marketplaces in Pimpri Chinchwad and Pune have become a spot of bother as the citizens are seen openly violating the COVID19 norms, not even giving a space to Police authorities to control the crowd, as opined by the mayor of the city, Usha Dhore.

The mayor, while talking to Pune Pulse said, “These marketplaces are a bigger hotspots of COVID as people flout the rules and norms without any fear. This needs to be controlled.”

The mayor has also suggested that she may soon write to commissioner to stress more on controlling overcrowding in the marketplaces or else the efforts of medical staff and all the frontline warriors may go in vain.
