No lockdown in Pune, decision to be made after April 1
Deputy chief minister of Maharashtra and guardian minister of Pune district Ajit Pawar on Friday March 26 informed that there won’t be lockdown in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad yet.
He was speaking at the meeting held in Council Hall today which saw presence of mayor of Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad, Member of Parliament and Member of Legislative Assembly, state ministers and representatives of local administration in Pune.
He stated that though the surge in Covid19 cases is troublesome at this moment both the cities will not face lockdown.
He also stated that if the situation worsens we may have to enforce lockdown in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad but the decision willl be taken on April 1.

He also stressed that citizens should strictly follow the protocols issued by the administration.
Pawar announced further decisions :
All colleges to remain closed till April 30
- Public gardens to remain open only during morning time
- Restrictions on movement during night to continue
- 50 percent beds to be acquired in private hospitals
- Weddings should have not more than 50 people (inclusive of open lawns and indoor hall)
- All political programmes to remain prohibited
- Multiplexes and cinema theatre to have 50 percent capacity only
