Are exhibitors favouring Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki over Prabhas’ Salaar?
Conterversial reports circulating since Wednesday morning highlighted a preference for Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’ over Prabhas’ ‘Salaar’ in North put to bed.
Kamal Gianchandani, President of the Multiplex Association of India and Chief Business Planning & Strategy at PVR Ltd, addressed the allegations concerning ‘Salaar’ at PVR Inox.
He stated, “We’ve noticed some strange online claims about unfair showcasing practices at PVRINOX. We deeply respect all film producers choosing our theatres. Disagreements in business happen with big film releases. This isn’t new, and things will resolve. Dismiss these unfounded theories.”
There were rumours that exhibitors prefer SRK’s Dunki over Prabhas’ Salaar and Salaar producers decided not to release their film in certain PVR-Inox theaters.
Some reports circulating since Wednesday morning highlighted a preference for Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’ over Prabhas’ ‘Salaar’ in North, leading to the latter’s producers withholding the film from PVR-Inox and Miraj theatres in some regions. However, PVR has now officially reassured everyone.
