PMC amps up vigil at public parking spaces with ‘these’ developments
The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has decided to clamp down on the types of cheating, harassment and threats with citizens happening at several public parking lots in the city. To curb these untoward incidents, PMC plans to introduce tariff boards, issuing only computerized receipts to citizens etc that will be made mandatory & will be strictly monitored at all public parking spaces.
Speaking to Pune Pulse, Shwetambari Nikate, Junior Engineer, Projects Department, PMC said, “The PMC has decided to put up integrated tariff boards in every public parking space of Pune. Earlier, tariff boards were present. However, the new tariff boards will have an email ID where citizens can register their complaints along with the ‘per hour’ rate for two-wheelers & four-wheelers.”
Nikate further added that currently, the new tariff boards have been put up at the parking spaces of Hutatma Babu Genu parking space, Satish Misal parking space etc. This exercise is in process & will be done for all public parking spaces in Pune.
Nikate further said that the PMC has instructed public parking contractors to mandatorily install CCTV cameras inside & outside public parking spaces, give only computerized receipts to citizens & more.
The hourly rate for two-wheelers at a public parking space is Rs 3/- (Same rate applicable for the next hour) & Rs 14/- for four-wheelers (Same rate applicable for the next hour).
Nikate further continues that citizens can register complaints, with proof if possible, at the email ID given on tariff boards in the public parking space & assure appropriate action after investigating the truth.
