Renowned filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane, originally considered for directing the Sourav Ganguly biopic, is back on board after initially passing on the project. The reasons for his return are undisclosed, but Motwane is enthusiastic about creatively presenting Ganguly’s life story on the screen.
Ayushmann Khurrana, a consistent topic of discussion for the lead role, has officially signed on for the project. With formalities completed, Ayushmann is gearing up for rigorous cricket training to embody the iconic left-handed batting style of Sourav Ganguly. The shooting is expected to commence in the second half of 2024.
Teaming up with director Vikramaditya Motwane, known for his outstanding work in films like ‘Udaan’ and ‘Lootera,’ Ayushmann Khurrana is considered a perfect fit for the biopic. Producers Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg from Luv Films have orchestrated this collaboration, bringing together two accomplished talents and generating excitement in the industry.
