Due to the increasing urbanization in and around Pimpri Chinchwad city, there has been a significant rise in road traffic. Vehicles have been parked illegally and obstructively in various areas, causing traffic congestion and inconvenience to citizens. To ensure smooth traffic flow and provide parking facilities, the traffic police and municipal corporation jointly planned to implement a pay-and-park scheme on a trial basis at various locations in the city.

As part of this initiative, a tender was issued, and the contract for the pay-and-park scheme was awarded to Nirmala Autocare Center on April 7, 2021, for a duration of 36 months.

This contract expired on April 6, 2024. Consequently, the municipal corporation has ceased the fee collection under the pay-and-park scheme previously managed by Nirmala Autocare Center.
