Pune: Shocking Incident At Labor Camp In Undri: Chef Murdered Over Food Dispute
In a shocking incident at the Millennium Labor Camp in the Undri area of Pune, a cook was brutally murdered by a laborer following a dispute over the taste of food. The incident occurred around 2:30 pm on Sunday, causing significant unrest in the community.
The deceased, Shubham Shastri Sarkar, 63, a resident of West Bengal, was responsible for preparing meals for the workers at the camp. The accused, Kamal Narayan Mardi, 49, also from West Bengal, has been arrested and charged with murder.
According to police reports, the altercation began when Mardi expressed his dissatisfaction with the taste of the food prepared by Sarkar. The disagreement quickly escalated, leading Mardi to attack Sarkar with a hammer, striking him in the nose. The severity of the injury led to Sarkar being rushed to Sassoon Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
The violence did not end there; Rampreet Mandal, who attempted to mediate the conflict, was also attacked by Mardi and sustained injuries. The prompt intervention of the Kondhwa police led to Mardi’s arrest at the scene.
Senior Inspector Santosh Sonwane of the Kondhwa Police Station confirmed that Mardi has been detained and a murder case has been registered. The police are continuing their investigation into the incident to uncover further details.
