22-Year-Old Student Injured by Fallen Tree Branch in Pune, Seeks Aid For Medical Treatment
In a tragic incident on Thursday evening, 22-year-old Prasad Raghuvir Vakshé, a student preparing for competitive exams, was severely injured by a falling tree branch in Madhuban Society, Karvenagar. The unexpected accident left Prasad with facial fractures, necessitating immediate medical attention at Dinanath Mangeshkar Hospital.
The incident occurred amidst heavy rainfall which had caused trees to collapse across the city over the past few days, including one incident involving a school van just two days prior. Prompt citizen action helped rush Prasad to the hospital, bypassing any official emergency response.
Prasad, was resident of Vakshewadi, Sangli, is pursuing his first year of a Master’s degree at Ferguson College. His parents, farmers by profession, are now grappling with financial strain due to the incident and are seeking assistance from local authorities. They expressed concern over how to access government aid without having formally lodged a complaint or received acknowledgment from administrative bodies.
Citizens and Prasad’s parents are urging authorities to recognize the natural disaster context of the incident and provide necessary aid without bureaucratic delay. They hope that by bringing attention to this incident, district officials and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will consider Prasad’s case for immediate assistance.
The family’s plea highlights the urgency for streamlined disaster relief protocols to aid those affected by such unforeseen calamities promptly.
