The incident occurred amidst heavy rainfall which had caused trees to collapse across the city over the past few days, including one incident involving a school van just two days prior. Prompt citizen action helped rush Prasad to the hospital, bypassing any official emergency response.
Prasad, was resident of Vakshewadi, Sangli, is pursuing his first year of a Master’s degree at Ferguson College. His parents, farmers by profession, are now grappling with financial strain due to the incident and are seeking assistance from local authorities. They expressed concern over how to access government aid without having formally lodged a complaint or received acknowledgment from administrative bodies.
