Actress Asha Negi, who found fame through TV shows like Pavitra Rishta, recently opened up about a disturbing casting couch experience from her early 20s. She recalled an encounter with a coordinator who tried to convince her that compromising was the norm in the entertainment industry.

Sharing her experience, Asha said, “Back then, there were coordinators, and I met one. He started talking about how things work on television. Though he didn’t say anything directly, I sensed his intentions.” The coordinator implied that many prominent TV actors had compromised to achieve success, attempting to brainwash her into believing this was the only way to grow in the industry.

Feeling uncomfortable and terrified, Asha confided in a friend, who dismissed the incident as a normal part of the business. She remembered telling her friend, “If this happens, then I’m not interested.” To her surprise, the friend wasn’t shocked and brushed it off casually.

Her candid revelation sheds light on the casting couch issue still prevalent in the entertainment industry, and her decision to stand firm against it.
