Abhishek Kapoor Opens Up About Sushant Singh Rajput’s Struggles During ‘Kedarnath’ Shoot

In a recent interview, filmmaker Abhishek Kapoor, who collaborated with the late Sushant Singh Rajput on ‘Kedarnath,’ shared poignant insights into the actor’s state of mind during the film’s shoot in 2018. Kapoor revealed that Sushant was ‘disturbed’ and felt isolated during this period.
Despite Sushant’s remarkable mental and physical strength, Kapoor expressed how the actor seemed to be facing challenges, grappling with a sense of isolation and helplessness. Kapoor reminisced about the dedication Sushant brought to his work, particularly highlighting instances where he shot in freezing conditions, serving as an inspiration for his co-star Sara Ali Khan.

“Sushant led the way. He did it first, and the next day Sara saw him doing it, and she also realized that if this guy is doing it, I will also do. That’s what drove her to do it,” Kapoor explained.
The director also shared his initial intention to cast Sushant in ‘Fitoor,’ which didn’t materialize, leading to their collaboration in ‘Kedarnath.’ Kapoor recounted Sushant’s transformation for the role, emphasizing the actor’s commitment to the craft.
Despite the challenges, ‘Kedarnath’ marked a significant project for Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan, set against the backdrop of the 2013 North India floods. Abhishek Kapoor’s reflections offer a glimpse into the complexities the late actor faced during this period.
