Air India Express Flight Carrying 189 Passengers From Dubai Receives Bomb Threat, Lands Safely In Jaipur
An Air India Express flight, IX-196, flying from Dubai to Jaipur with 189 passengers on board, received a bomb threat via email at 12:45 am on Saturday. The plane landed safely at Jaipur International Airport at 1:20 am, and after a thorough security check, nothing suspicious was found.
“We received a bomb threat email at 12:45 am, and immediately informed the authorities,” said Jaipur Airport Police SHO Sandeep Basera while talking to media. “The flight landed safely, and a thorough check was conducted by security forces.”
This incident is the latest in a series of bomb threats received by Indian airlines in recent days. On Friday, a London-bound Vistara flight from Delhi was diverted to Frankfurt after receiving a bomb threat on social media. Additionally, Akasa Air’s Flight QP 1366 from Bengaluru to Mumbai received a security alert shortly before departure.
Over the past week, nearly 40 Indian flights have received hoax bomb threats, disrupting air travel and prompting authorities to take action. Four Air India Express flights and two Vistara flights received threats on October 18, while IndiGo and Air India reported multiple threats on October 17.
The civil aviation ministry has taken note of these incidents and is exploring ways to prevent hoax bomb threats. Minister K Rammohan Naidu has vowed to take strict action against perpetrators, including placing them on the no-fly list.
“The security of our passengers is our top priority,” said an Air India Express spokesperson. “We are working closely with authorities to ensure the safety of our passengers.”
The recent incidents have sparked concerns about airline security, and authorities are working to ensure the safety of passengers.
