Ambhora’s charm is enhanced by its deep spiritual and historical importance. The village features an ancient Shiv temple, a serene Buddha temple, and a respected dargah, all of which showcase the area’s vibrant cultural legacy. With upcoming renovations as part of the new project, these sites are poised to restore their former magnificence, providing a harmonious mix of spiritual peace and architectural beauty.
Soaring 40 meters above the deck slab, the bridge features a sky gallery that provides guests with an aerial perspective of the magnificent river and lush scenery beneath. Constructed over the backwaters of Gosikhurd to link the Nagpur and Bhandara districts, this bridge exemplifies a perfect fusion of nature and technological advancement.
The transformation of Ambhora has been a long-held aspiration of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who have passionately advocated for its growth. Gadkari frequently shares his vision of turning Ambhora into a premier global tourist destination.
The ambitious plan for the village includes resorts, adventure sports, water activities, and cultural attractions, making it a truly inspiring project.
Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) is taking significant steps to establish a resort aimed at accommodating the growing number of visitors. Currently, various agencies, including the Public Works Department, the Irrigation Department, and MTDC, are collaborating to bring this ambitious project to fruition.
The government initiative seeks to leverage Ambhora’s geographical benefits by launching watersports and boating activities. A PWD official says, “The irrigation department will be working on planning water sports, boating, and other works for the project. PWD will be spending around Rs 200 crore, while the remaining amount will be spent by the irrigation department. We will be doing work like building a major parking hub at the spot, as many tourists visit the area. Besides, renovations of the famous Shiv temple, Buddha temple, and dargah at the spot will be undertaken, along with organizing adventure sports.”
The project is already underway, having been initiated with a tender of Rs 18 crore. While the tender process is still in progress, the government’s goal is to finish the project by 2026.
