Pune, January 11, 2025 – The Anti-Narcotics Squad of the Pune Police arrested a man in the Katraj area for possession of drugs worth ₹43.87 lakh. The accused was identified as Arun Ashok Arora (50), a resident of Pritam Heights, Mangdewadi, Katraj.

During a routine patrol in Katraj, the Anti-Narcotics Squad received a tip-off from police personnel Yogesh Mandhare about a large stockpile of drugs in Arora’s possession. Acting on the information, the squad conducted a raid and seized 2.14 kg of charas and 1.79 kg of marijuana from the accused.

Police officials confirmed the value of the seized drugs to be ₹43.87 lakh. They are currently investigating the source of the drugs and Arora’s intended buyers.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of Additional Commissioner Shailesh Balakawade, Deputy Commissioner Nikhil Pingale, and Assistant Commissioner Rajendra Mulik. The team included Assistant Inspector Nitin Kumar Naik, Yogesh Mandhare, Prashant Bomadandi, Nitin Jagdale, Azad Patil, and Disha Khewalkar.
