A routine bus journey turned into a heartwarming moment of joy when an artist surprised a KSRTC conductor with a thoughtful gift — a pencil sketch. The small gesture not only brought a radiant smile to the conductor’s face but also captured the hearts of millions online.

In a video shared by the artist, Akash Selvarasu, the conductor can be seen carrying out her usual duties, collecting fares and issuing tickets to passengers. Meanwhile, Akash quietly observed her and began sketching her portrait with a pencil, without drawing attention to himself. Once the artwork was complete, he revealed it to the conductor.

Her initial reaction was one of surprise, which quickly turned into a bright, heartfelt smile. Clearly touched by the gesture, she proudly shared the sketch with fellow passengers, walking around the bus to show them the drawing.

“This is one of the most special artworks I have ever created,” Akash wrote in his Instagram post. “Seeing the joy on her face was priceless. For an artist, true reward comes from appreciation, and I felt it wholeheartedly. She even displayed the sketch to everyone on the bus, telling them I had drawn it.”

The video, posted on November 24, 2025, has since gone viral, amassing 17.1 million views and 1.7 million likes on Instagram. Social media users were quick to respond with warmth and admiration for the thoughtful act. One user commented, “Her smile said it all,” perfectly capturing the conductor’s pure happiness in that fleeting moment.

Another wrote, “There is no price for this happiness,” highlighting how priceless such genuine joy can be. Yet another shared, “The way she appreciated the artist by showing it to all the passengers really highlights her kindness,” pointing out the generosity and warmth of her gesture.

And one more added, “One sketch… and the whole bus lit up. A simple act that brightened every heart,” showing how even small acts of kindness can ripple outward and touch many lives.

Pune Traders Oppose Additional 1% User Charge on Agricultural Market Transactions, Demand Withdrawal of Circular

Pune, June 3: Traders' organizations across Maharashtra have expressed strong dissatisfaction over the circular imposing an additional 1% user charge on transactions in the grain and agricultural produce markets under the Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC).

Speaking on the issue, Saurabh Shekhar Kunjir, President of the Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Market Yard Adte Association, Pune, said that the new levy has triggered concern among traders and market stakeholders across the state. He urged the government to reconsider the decision and withdraw the circular.

The Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Market Yard Adte Association has also extended its support to the Poona Merchant Chamber Association ian opposing the additional user charge. Traders believe that the extra financial burden could adversely affect market operations and increase costs for stakeholders involved in agricultural produce trading.

The associations have appealed to the state government to review the policy and take a decision that safeguards the interests of traders and the agricultural marketing sector.
