Pimpri Chinchwad Traffic Police has issued revised auto-rickshaw fares for the passengers. It is one of the long pending demands set by Pimpri Chinchwad Housing Federation which was fulfilled recently.

Pimpri Chinchwad Housing Society Federation had long aho demanded to the newly appointed commissioner, IPS Krishna Prakash, to settle the unresolved irregular rickshaw fares issue. The Police commissioner, who has fulfilled the promises and regained the confidence of people in the Pimpri Chinchwad Police department, has again set a benchmark with his ‘no-compromise’ & ‘zero tolerance’ attitude. The Pimpri Chinchwad Traffic Police Department has revised auto-rickshaw fares for the passengers.

Below chart of fares circulated by Pimpri Chinchwad Traffic Head, displays the revised fares according to the meter. In the last few months, the Pimpri Chinchwad Police had conducted a meeting various auto rickshaw organisations on regulating the rickshaw fares according to meter. Those auto rickshaw drivers who resist the passengers on travelling according to the meter, will face strict action under Maharashtra Motor Vehicle act.

While talking to Pune Pulse, Shrikant Disale said, “We have regulated this rule in the city only after rounds of discussion with auto rickshaw drivers and organisations.”

This move by Pimpri Chinchwad Police is being appreciated by the Pimpri Chinchwad Housing Societies Federation.

While talking to Pulse, Sachin Londhe, a committee person of group and one of the active volunteers working for the betterment of traffic model in the city, said, “It is a good move, and we thank the Pimpri Chinchwad Police for working on such an important issue. However, we encourage people to abide by the new rule, and if rickshaw drivers hesitate in travelling by meter, they can straight wau report it to us, or lodge a complaint of Maha Traffic App.”
