Ban bottled chilled water manufacturing plants

Despite the ban, chilled water jars manufacturers and sellers are running their operations. A complaint in this regard was registered at the National Green Tribunal which had issued an order on June 19, 2020 asking all local civic administration to ask these units to stop manufacturing and selling of chilled water jars. The order was issued by Maharashtra Pollution Control Board member secretary Ashok Shingare (IAS). 

A complaint in this regard was registered by Maharashtra Bottled water Manufacturers Association, president, Federation of All India Business Federation Vijaysingh Dubal who had approaced the NGT.

Advocate Aseem Sarode presented the case on behalf of Vijaysingh Dubal at the NGT. Dubal in his complaint had raised the issue that despite the ban several manufacturing units and sellers were allegedly selling such chilled water jars without legal compliances. Also the concerned local authorities were time ly asked for the number of such units in Maharashtra but they were never able to furnish the details. Nagar Parishad Administration deputy director Bhalchandra Behere issued the government orders on July 22, 2020.
