Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, who has been under constant threat from the Bishnoi gang, faced another alarming incident on November 4, 2024, during a film shoot in Dadar West, Mumbai. A man reportedly entered the secured shooting location opposite Matunga Railway Station and invoked the name of Lawrence Bishnoi during an altercation with security personnel.
The man, identified as Satish Sharma, a junior artist, allegedly argued with a bouncer after being denied access to the set. The confrontation escalated when Sharma mentioned, “Should I inform Lawrence Bishnoi?” This comment alarmed the security team, given the actor’s history of threats from the gang. The guards immediately called the police, and Sharma was taken to Shivaji Park Police Station for questioning.
Mumbai Police clarified that no FIR has been registered yet, and senior officers suspect it may have been a prank. However, police sources confirmed that Sharma is being interrogated to determine any links to the Bishnoi gang or potential threats to Salman Khan.
Ongoing Threats to Salman Khan
Salman Khan has been the target of repeated threats from Lawrence Bishnoi and his associates, primarily over the 1998 blackbuck poaching case. The Bishnoi community holds blackbucks sacred, and the gangster has demanded a public apology from the actor.
Recent threats have included direct warnings against Salman Khan and others associated with him:
• October 2024: A threat message referenced a song linking Salman Khan and Lawrence Bishnoi, with the sender vowing to harm the songwriter within a month.
• 2022: Lawrence Bishnoi, from prison, declared that the community would not forgive Salman Khan unless he publicly apologised.
Despite increased security by Mumbai Police and private guards, the latest incident underscores vulnerabilities in protecting high-profile personalities. Authorities are now re-evaluating Salman Khan’s security arrangements to prevent such breaches in the future.
The Bishnoi community’s anger towards Salman Khan stems from the actor’s alleged involvement in the killing of two blackbucks during the filming of Hum Saath Saath Hain. Lawrence Bishnoi has leveraged this sentiment, making Salman Khan a target of his gang’s threats.
While Sharma’s motives remain unclear, Mumbai Police are ensuring that the incident is thoroughly investigated. The possibility of a prank or a deliberate act to incite fear is being considered.
