Blinkit, previously known as Grofers, is India’s go-to app for last-minute needs delivering over 10,000 groceries right to your doorstep in no time.

It offers an extensive selection of products such as fruits, vegetables, baked goods, dairy products, snacks, spices, beverages, and much more. Furthermore, it includes personal care items, household necessities, baby products, pet supplies, and additional categories.

The company offers mobile applications that are compatible with both Android and iOS platforms. Blinkit was acquired by Zomato On June 24, 2022, the acquisition was valued at ₹4,450 crore.

BlinkIt continues its expansion drive and is gaining traction in more places.

“We’re in about 26 cities today and are seeing this business (quick commerce) growing in some of the smaller cities where we’ve launched as well. Slowly and steadily we want to expand and get into more cities. Even in the large cities…in the main metros there is a lot of room for growth, so the majority of our focus will be on large cities, but we will continue to expand into smaller cities over time,” said Zomato CFO, Akshant Goyal.

Multiple brokerage firms indicate that Blinkit adds more value to Zomato’s market capitalization than its core food delivery operations. Blinkit aims to increase its number of dark stores, or micro warehouses, to 1,000 by the end of FY25 and exceed 2,000 by 2026.
