Bribe Scandal Unveiled in Pune Porsche Accident Case, Police Accesses CCTV FootageÂ
In the ongoing investigation of the Pune Porsche accident case, new CCTV footage has shed light on alleged bribery involving hospital employees. The incident, which occurred last month, involved a 17-year-old boy crashing a luxury car into a motorcycle, resulting in the deaths of two young software engineers.
The CCTV footage from the Yerwada area implicates an employee of Sassoon General Hospital, accused of participating in a conspiracy to swap the juvenile driver’s blood samples. According to reports, a middleman named Ashpak Makandar delivered a bribe of ₹3 lakh to hospital employee Atul Ghatkamble. This exchange reportedly took place on the premises of the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB).
The manipulation of the blood samples came to light when suspicions arose regarding the initial sample taken at Sassoon General Hospital on May 19. Subsequent tests at Aundh Government Hospital and DNA matching with the juvenile’s father’s sample confirmed the tampering.
The police have arrested several individuals, including hospital staff and the accused’s parents, in connection with the case. Additionally, a separate investigation has been launched into the alleged serving of liquor to the underage driver at a pub, as well as the accused’s father permitting him to drive without a valid license.
The accused, the son of a prominent builder, remains under observation home remand until June 25. Authorities express concerns that his release could impede the ongoing investigation. Meanwhile, a third case has been filed regarding the coercion of the family driver to take the blame for the accident, leading to the arrest of the accused’s grandfather.
