Celebrating 16 Years Of AamantraN Durga Pujo In Pune: A Grand Cultural Extravaganza On B T Kawade Road Way back 2008-09, some like-minded Bengalis at B T Kawade Road, Pune came together with an intention to promote and nourish the rich Bengali Culture & Tradition for those who are far away from Bengal. With this intention, AamantraN formed in 2009 started its journey. Over a period of time more concurring Bengalis from Hadapsar, Keshav Nagar, Wanorie joined hands and AamantraN grew year on year to a new heights and new initiatives. AamantraN President Arobindo Sinharoy stated “ last fifteen year we are performing Durga Puja, Kojagari Laxmi Puja, Kali Puja and Saraswati Puja with huge vigor and collective participation of localities not limited to Bengalis only. This year we are celebrating 16th Year of Durga Pujo at Borate Garden, S No 51, Next to PMC Garden , B T Kawade Road. Every year we also collectively celebrate Bengali New Year, Rabindra Nazrul Jayanti followed by cultural events performed by the members. Also we give our effort to support for the social causes such as Blood Donation, support to Physically challenged Children and Sr Citizen etc.” This year also AamantraN Durga Pujo is packed with lots of activities. Mr Shubhodip Ghosh – AamantraN secretary detailed the event plans for this year. Festival will be started from 8th October with Anandamela – Inhouse members and their Family get together where members display their culinary skill with array of sumptuous foods. Puja inauguration will be on Sasthi ie 9th October evening followed by Aagamani Songs by Members, a small event tribute to Women Power – Aamar Durga and then Bengali Drama “ Dampoti “ all performed by the AamantraN members. On 10th, we have a musical evening by Ujjan, on 11th we have our inhouse team dance performance followed by Traditional Baul ( Bengali Folk ) Songs by Jayatna Das, on 12th we have performance by our inhouse singing team followed by a scintillating dance performance by “Razzle”. On 13th morning around 9 am we are having traditional Sindur Khela followed by Immersion. Evening we are having Bijaya Sammilani (traditional Bengali get together post immersion) for our members. Vice President Sanket Roy told, "We also have all three days ie 10th, 11th and 12th Bhog Prasad ( from 1.30 pm to 3.00 pm) for all the devotees with traditional Khichudi, Labda ( mix veg), Pulao, Poori, Sabji, Sweets etc. Also we are having various competition during day time for all the presents and interested participants – Dhunuchi Dance for all , Sit and Draw for children, fancy dress for tiny tots, musical chair for Ladies and Kids etc." We are having Kojagari Laxmi Pujo on 16th evening on the same venue and kali Pujo on 31st October. Drums of festival started beating and we all are eagerly waiting to welcome Maa Durga looking for a great festival seasons ahead with endless fun, joy and togetherness.
