Pune: Maharashtra’s Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil on Sunday disclosed details regarding meetings held at Vidhan Bhavan concerning the municipal corporation budget. He revealed that BJP leaders are actively involved in the budget planning process.

Patil stated that he and Union Minister Muralidhar Mohol have coordinated with the municipal commissioner to allocate quotas for development work constituency-wise. They have submitted project lists to ensure their inclusion in the upcoming municipal budget and are monitoring the process daily.

The meetings, usually held at the municipal corporation, are being conducted at Vidhan Bhavan, sparking criticism due to the involvement of BJP officials. Patil addressed this controversy during an organizational workshop for BJP’s Pune and Solapur divisions, which may lead to further political disputes.

He further explained that with power at both the state and central levels, the BJP is positioned to bring significant development through the District Planning Committee (DPC). The ₹1,200 crore budget for Pune DPC will fund various projects, benefiting city councilors. Patil assured that development work will accelerate if BJP performs well in the upcoming local body elections.
