Control menace caused by youngsters near Lonkar garden; urge residents

A joint meeting of residents living around Lonkar garden off Salunke Vihar road was held recently in view of increasing problems created by the youngsters.
This meeting was attended by Prabhag 26 Corporator Nanda Lonkar.
Santy Mathews, a resident said, “Youngsters often create nuisance around the Lonkar garden by smoking drugs, drinking liquor throughout the day. We have often complained to the police but there is no permanent solution.”
Another resident of the area, Neetu Sharma complained, “These youths are seen in daytime as well as late at night. There are couples sitting in the car and doing illegal activities.”

Pallavi Chavan, another resident said, “There are stray dogs who keep chasing vehicles as well as pedestrians. They bark throughout the night disturbing our peace. PMC should sterilize and vaccinate them too.”
Jay Shroff, a resident of nearby society said, “Parking in the lanes is a big issue too. Haphazard parking a big issue among the lanes which are narrow and often causes congestion.”
Residents raised following issues to be resolved :
Bollards be installed near Rahul Residency to curb four wheelers entering from this side. Societies will divide the expenses as well as share the security guard who will control the exit and entry of vehicles in the lane near Lysha Enclave Barricades be installed near Lysha Enclave on both the sides and only allow vehicles of local residents Increase patrolling of Police / A fixed point everyday of the police to shoo these youngsters away CCTV surveillance system should be installed Control stray animal menace
Increase street lights around the lanes so that culprits won’t hang around the internal lanes of the road
Haphazard parking is a big issue in several lanes which are narrow.
The meeting was organised by the members of Guru Nanak Society Association, such as Sanjay Mane, Santy Mathews, Manoj Lilani, Neetu Jha Sharma, Jay Shroff, Dimple Sinha, Naushad Kagdi, Ravin Trakru Cyrus Roddicks, Col subhash Morde. and Suhas Rowtu.
