Crackdown On Illegal Hill Excavation In Bibvewadi: Pune Collector Jitendra Dudi Warns Of Strict Action Against Violators
Pune, May 10, 2025: Swift action has been taken by the administration against illegal hill excavation causing environmental degradation at Survey No. 579/1B, Mouje Bibvewadi in Pune. District Collector Jitendra Dudi has issued a stern warning that stringent action will be taken henceforth against those who engage in unauthorized excavation and damage the environment.
The administration received information that unauthorized hill-cutting and land levelling was underway at the said location in Bibvewadi. A drone survey was immediately conducted, and an official inspection (panchnama) was carried out. It was observed that hill excavation and flattening of the land were being done without permission, and the activity was immediately halted by the authorities.
A Hyundai 210 excavator (Pokeland machine) used at the site has been seized.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the land belongs to Rakesh Sharma, and neither he nor the developer had obtained any government permission for the excavation or levelling work. A formal complaint has been lodged at the local police station to register a case against the responsible individuals.
This action was jointly carried out by Haveli Sub-Divisional Officer Yashwant Mane, Pune City Tehsildar Suryakant Yewale, Haveli Tehsildar Kiran Survase, along with the Circle Officer and Village Revenue Officer, informed District Collector Dudi.
