Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has been bestowed with the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Award for Best Actor in recognition of his outstanding performance in Atlee’s directorial venture, Jawan.
The esteemed award ceremony, attended by several Bollywood celebrities including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Rani Mukherji, and Shahid Kapoor, saw Shah Rukh Khan expressing his gratitude in an acceptance speech.
In his address, SRK shared his excitement, stating that it had been a while since he received the Best Actor Award, and winning it for Jawan was particularly special. He expressed genuine thrill and gratitude for the recognition of his work, pledging to continue working hard to entertain audiences both in India and abroad.
Bobby Deol was also honoured at the ceremony, winning the Best Actor in a Negative Role award for his performance in Animal, a film that starred Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, and Anil Kapoor. The film, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, was a significant commercial success, grossing over Rs 800 crore globally.
The Best Actress award went to Nayanthara, while Shah Rukh Khan clinched the Best Actor award for Jawan. Vicky Kaushal received the Best Actor (Critics) award for his portrayal of Sam Manekshaw in Sam Bahadur, a film based on the life of India’s first field marshal, directed by Meghna Gulzar.
The accolades highlight the diversity and talent within the Indian film industry, with stars being recognized for their exceptional contributions to cinema.
