The Centre has extended the deadline for updating Aadhaar details for free until June 14, 2024. Previously set for March 14, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) announced the extension of the free online document upload facility through the myAadhaar portal. 

Users can update personal details such as name and address at no cost using this service, or opt for physical updates at Common Services Centres (CSC) for a fee of ₹50.

UIDAI emphasized that the service is exclusively available on the myAadhaar portal until June 14. 

Additionally, UIDAI encourages users whose Aadhaar was issued over 10 years ago and has not been updated since to upload Proof of Identity and Proof of Address documents for revalidation of demographic details.

How to update your Aadhaar card online for free?

• Visit official UIDAI website here: https://uidai.gov.in/

• Enter your Aadhaar number and captcha and click on ‘send OTP’ on your linked mobile number

• After this select ‘Update Demographics Data’ and the relevant option.

• Click on ‘Proceed’ and upload the required document.

• Before clicking ‘Submit’ verify the details

• Visit Aadhaar site here: https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/

• Then log in and select “Name/Gender/Date of Birth & Address Update”.

• Click on “Update Aadhaar Online” and select ‘address’.

• Click ‘Proceed to Update Aadhaar’ and upload a copy of the scanned document.
