Deputy CM Ajit Pawar instructs to expedite works of Shivaji Nagar- Hinjewadi-Maan metro line

Pune: Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has directed to expedite the construction work of the Shivaji Nagar- Hinjewadi-Maan metro line. Pawar also stressed on speeding up the work of the integrated double-decker flyover with the proposed metro at Savitribai Phule Pune Vidyapeeth Chowk.
As per information, Pawar was speaking at the Council Hall. Pawar said that in order to speed up the work of Shivajinagar Hinjewadi Maan Metro, which is being built by the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA), all the concerned departments should work in coordination and speed regarding the necessary government and private spaces for the project. He also said that Pune Municipal Corporation as well as traffic police should co-ordinate for managing traffic so that citizens do not suffer from traffic jams.
Pawar further instructed the officials that the 45-meter wide possession of road space required for the Ganeshkhind ramp should be done by September 15. Pune Municipal Corporation should take necessary action for this. He also directed that barricading at Aundh, Baner, Pashan, and Ganeshkhind Ramp, diversion of traffic wherever necessary should be done keeping in mind the convenience of the citizens.
Ajit Pawar directly contacted the key officials through mobile phone and gave instructions. He also held a discussion with the private landowners regarding specific plots required for the project for successful land acquisition. Pawar also said that the work should be done considering the next 50 years and there should be no compromise on the project.
At the meeting, Nitin Kareer, Finance Department Additional Chief Secretary, Saurabh Rao, Divisional Commissioner, Ritesh Kumar, Pune City Police Commissioner, Rahul Mahiwal, PMRDA Commissioner, Shekhar Singh, Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner, Shravan Hardikar, Maha Metro Managing Director, Dr Rajesh Deshmukh, District Collector, Deepak Singla, PMRDA Additional Commissioner, Vijay Kumar Magar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (traffic), Vikas Dhakane, Pune Municipal Additional Commissioner, officers of Tata Projects Company etc were present.
