Devendra Fadnavis Reaches Out To Disappointed BJP Leaders In Pune
In the run-up to the upcoming assembly elections, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis visited BJP leaders in Pune who are interested in contesting the elections. During his visits, Fadnavis met each leader at their homes, addressing their concerns and acknowledging the challenges the Mahayuti (Grand Alliance) and Mahavikas Aghadi face in distributing seats across parties.
Fadnavis assured leaders that if the Mahayuti forms the government, their efforts will be duly recognized. The visit took place amid discontent among party aspirants who were either denied candidacy or discouraged from filing their nomination forms. In Pune’s eight assembly constituencies, BJP had a high number of interested candidates, and Fadnavis’s outreach was aimed at easing tensions within the party and encouraging unity.
BJP Pune City President Dheeraj Ghate, former MP Sanjay Kakade, former House Leader Shrinath Bhimale, and former MLA Jagdish Mulik were among those he met. The meetings were also attended by Union Minister of State and Pune MP Muralidhar Mohol and MLA Bhimrao Tapkir.
Dheeraj Ghate expressed that, despite his and his supporters’ disappointment over not receiving a nomination, Fadnavis’s visit and assurance provided some relief. He shared that Fadnavis personally spoke with his family and promised recognition for his work within the Kasba constituency if the Mahayuti secures victory.
