In a deeply disturbing incident that has ignited widespread outrage online, an on-duty female police officer was harassed and manhandled by a man while attempting to arrest two individuals with her team. The incident, captured on video, has since gone viral and prompted a chorus of angry reactions from netizens demanding strict action.
The video, shared by the user @digitalsangghi on X (formerly Twitter), shows a man in a blue shirt physically harassing the woman constable during the arrest operation. Despite being in uniform and on duty, the female officer is seen being manhandled in full public view, raising serious questions about the safety and respect afforded to women even those in law enforcement.
As of now, the video has garnered over Lacs of views, with thousands of users reacting in shock and anger. The caption of the post condemned the man’s behavior, reading, “What is this man in the blue shirt doing to the lady constable? There’s no shortage of perverts in this country. It’s no surprise we’ve earned the disgraceful title of the rape capital of the world. And yet, no one here even seems to feel ashamed.”
Netizens did not hold back their emotions. One user called the man a “#shameless Pervert,” while another wrote, “Shameful…” A third comment reflected a grim sentiment, “Actually nothing will happen to him. Our laws are made only to muzzle husbands in courts.”
Demands for strict punishment have also filled the comment section, with one user stating, “Deserves a really hard thrashing this pervert.” Another, frustrated with the lack of immediate retaliation, said, “She should have put one with her knees to the groin of the blue shirt guy then and there itself.”
According to a report by PTI, a woman constable was molested during the Aurangzeb tomb row in Nagpur, in March.
While the police tried to contain the situation in wake of arson and vandalism, the unruly crowd in Bhaldarpura area tried to tear the uniform of a female police official and molested her. However, fellow officers quickly intervened and escorted her to a safe location. reported PTI.
