Pune | February 12, 2026: The much-awaited double-decker flyover integrated with the Metro corridor at Pune University Chowk on Ganeshkhind Road has reached its final stage of completion, offering long-term relief from chronic traffic congestion in one of the city’s busiest corridors.

Built on a single-pillar structure, the modern infrastructure project features a Metro track on the upper deck and a vehicular flyover on the lower deck, making it one of Pune’s most advanced urban transport developments. The project has been designed to streamline both public transport and road traffic, ensuring smoother and more efficient mobility.

The Aundh–Shivajinagar stretch was opened to traffic on August 20, 2025, while the Shivajinagar–Baner and Baner–Shivajinagar routes have also been completed and are set to be opened for vehicular movement shortly.

Once fully operational, the double-decker flyover is expected to significantly improve connectivity across Aundh, Baner, Pashan, and Shivajinagar, reducing travel time, fuel consumption, traffic congestion, and vehicular pollution. Authorities said the project will make daily commuting faster, safer, and more convenient for thousands of motorists and public transport users.

The project is being hailed as a major milestone in Pune’s modern transport infrastructure, marking a significant step towards an integrated, smart, and sustainable urban mobility system for the city.
