A couple faced verbal abuse and assault after confronting a car driver whose vehicle hit their car and broke its side mirror. The incident occurred on Sunday evening, December 8, near the metro bridge in Kalyani Nagar.
The woman and her husband were traveling by car around 8:30 PM when another car, speeding recklessly, collided with theirs. The impact broke the car’s mirror. Following this, the husband questioned the driver of the other vehicle about his behavior.
Instead of apologizing, the accused blocked the road with his car and started arguing. When the woman stepped out of the car to intervene, the situation escalated. The driver verbally abused her, engaged in inappropriate behavior, and physically assaulted her.
The woman later filed a complaint at Yerawada Police Station. Based on her statement, the police have registered a case against the accused for outraging modesty, assault, and verbal abuse.
Assistant Police Inspector Mahesh Lamkhede is leading the investigation. Authorities are gathering evidence, including statements from witnesses, to proceed with legal action.
