Father and Daughter Among 3 Dead in Pune District Road Accident
The head-on collision between a container truck and a Swift car on the Nhavare-Shikrapur National Highway in Pune resulted in the tragic deaths of three individuals. The accident occurred on Sunday evening around 7:30 PM in Nhavare, Shirur taluka. The victims were identified as Kailas alias Dada Krishnaaji Gaikwad (50), his daughter Gauri Kailas Gaikwad (18), and Gauri’s maternal uncle, Ganesh Mahadev Nirlekar (25). Durga Kailas Gaikwad (45), Gauri’s mother, sustained serious injuries in the accident.
The family was travelling from Talegaon to Nhavare when the incident occurred.
The container truck driver fled the scene after the collision. A case has been registered against him, and the police are investigating the incident.
The Shirur Police are investigating the incident, and the bodies of the deceased have been sent to the rural hospital in Nhavare for post-mortem.
