Fire breaks out near Shivarkar garden in Wanowrie

Fire broke out in the houses in Shivarkar chawl on November 10, at 11.32 PM near Shivarkar garden, Wanowrie. The tin sheets covering the homes were burnt completely in the fire.

Four fire tenders and two water tankers extinguished the fire. One fire tender from Pune Cantonment Brigade was also called in to control the fire. The fire was contained in 20 minutes.

A cylinder blast and short circuit in the house led to huge flames, which destroyed four surrounding homes while three houses were damaged in the fire incident. Fire vehicles from Pune Municipal Corporations Kondhwa Khurd, Kondhwa Budruk, B T Kawade road, Gangadham, Pune Cantonment, Kondhwa budruk water tanker and Central Fire Brigade Jumbo water tanker took part in extinguishing the fire.
