Fire erupts at Mudpipe Café in Bengaluru, One injured after jumping from 4th floor

Pune: A fire broke out at Mudpipe Cafe located in the KDP Building in Kira Layout on Hosur Road in Bengaluru on Wednesday afternoon forcing one man to jump out from the topmost floor of the building to escape the blaze. As per information, the man has sustained injuries and is being treated at a nearby hospital.

According to fire and emergency officials, they were notified about the fire at approximately 12:05 p.m. A total of eight vehicles, including two water bowsers, five water tankers, and an aerial ladder platform (ALP), have been deployed to douse the fire.

Speaking about the incident, a high-ranking officer said, “The fire originated in the cafe situated on the fourth floor of the four-story building. At the time of the incident, the cafe was closed. Subsequently, a blast occurred following the fire. We are investigating the cause of the blast. Additionally, there is a Cult Fit gym and Nexa showroom within the same building. “The fire has now spread to the entire top and second floor.”

The officer said that it is currently too early to determine the exact cause of the fire. The exact cause can only be determined after the fire is extinguished followed by a detailed investigation. The Suddaguntepalya police swiftly arrived at the scene and evacuated individuals from nearby buildings. A senior officer suspects that the blast may have been caused by the presence of LPG gas cylinders stored within the building. “However, we can only confirm this once the fire has been extinguished,” he said.
