Mumbai Police arrest drug mafia Lalit Patil from Tamil Nadu

Pune: The Mumbai Police have apprehended Lalit Patil, a drug mafia, who had managed to escape from Pune’s Sassoon Hospital. Patil had been evading capture for a period of fifteen days, prompting the deployment of ten police teams to investigate his whereabouts.

The Mumbai Police’s Crime Branch team successfully arrested Patil in Tamil Nadu.

As per the information received, Patil will be transported to Pune this afternoon and subsequently presented before the court. In the meantime, Sushma Andhare, a leader of the Thackeray group, has made a post on the social media platform Facebook, which has generated significant attention within political circles.

The arrest of Patil has raised hopes of uncovering crucial information regarding the drug operation. The case took an intriguing turn when it was revealed that Patil had been receiving preferential treatment at Sassoon Hospital in Pune. 

This revelation has sparked controversy, with questions arising about the support he received from individuals within the hospital. As the investigation progresses, it is anticipated that further details will emerge regarding this particular aspect of the case. The drug smuggling case at Pune’s Sassoon Hospital was initially brought to light by the Pune Police’s Crime Branch.

A significant quantity of substances, valued at approximately two crore rupees, was seized from Patil’s alleged mastermind accomplice at the entrance of the hospital. 

Approximately 1.75 kilograms of Mephedrone were seized. Following the exposure of the case, Lalit Patil went into hiding, prompting a nationwide search. The disclosure of drug activities within the hospital premises resulted in criticism towards Sassoon Hospital and the Pune Police from multiple states.

Consequently, progress in the case has been accelerated in the past twelve days leading to the arrest. The apprehension of Lalit Patil signifies a significant advancement in the smuggling case, potentially providing insight into his drug connections and operations.

The case is currently being investigated, and additional revelations are expected.
