An architect from Pune and his wife suffered brutal injuries when three attackers started beating them up outside the main gate of their society

A man got brutally injured when three men came up to him and started beating him outside the gate of his society at around 9:30 pm in the night. The man has been identified as Santosh Vishnu Dotul, a 40 year old architectural designer who was heading out with his wife, Sumitha for some purchases in a car. According to the victim, when they reached the main gate of the society, they were being blocked by three men who were standing in their way. 

They were not letting the couple pass through as a result of which Santosh had to intervene and ask the three men to let them through and not stand in the middle of the way. He asked them to step aside which angered the three men and they dragged Santosh out of his car and took his ignition key off. One of the assailants started verbally abusing and arguing with the victim. 

The victim further explained that the men caught him by his neck and pushed him on the ground when they started punching him in the nose causing the nose to fracture and bleed. He further stated that when his wife, Sumitha tried to intervene and protect him, the trio also beat her brutally. 

A case was lodged at the Kondhwa Police station under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) section for causing grievous hurt. Two of the attackers have been identified as residents of the same society, Sai Vishwa located near The Bishop’s School in Undri. 

The investigating officer for the case is Inspector Mansingh Patil who elaborated on the case stating that the victim requested the attackers to let him go to a hospital as he suffered fracture and bleeding. But the attackers did not let them go. Santosh eventually filed a case at the Kondhwa Police Station and underwent treatment for his nose at the Sassoon General Hospital.
