Moments before takeoff from Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, an unsettling incident occurred on an Air India flight bound for Lucknow.

Adarsh Kumar Singh, the son of a Uttar Pradesh police officer and a student at a private college in Bengaluru, created panic among passengers by asserting he was a ‘terrorist.’

The young man, reportedly struggling academically, had boarded the flight but expressed a desire to disembark just before departure.

His disruptive behaviour escalated when he claimed affiliation with a terrorist organization, prompting the crew to alert the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). Subsequent investigations by CISF found nothing suspicious, and Singh was handed over to the Kempegowda airport police.

It was revealed that Singh was mentally unwell, possibly exacerbated by academic challenges and relationship issues. The incident prompted a thorough anti-sabotage check and interrogation.

A case has been registered against Adarsh Kumar Singh under IPC section 505 for making statements causing public mischief based on Air India staff’s complaint.

The investigation is also considering Singh’s mental health condition, as disclosed by his family members.
