G20 summit: No metro work on two routes till Jan 17, says Chandrakant Patil

In lieu of the preparations for the G20 summit meetings, Pune district guardian minister Chandrakant Patil has decided to halt the work on the metro till January 17 to focus on the security arrangements and also to ensure that the roads are clear for the dignitaries who will be visiting the city. 

There will be a special route for the guests arriving in the city, while regular traffic will also be running, said Minister Chandrakant Patil. The metro work between Gunjan Talkies and Bund garden bridge, and Shivajinagar to Pune University will be closed from January 11 to January 17. The metro work on other routes will continue. 

“We will resume metro work after the completion of the G20 summit meetings,” said Vinod Agrawal, functional director,  Pune Maha Metro
