Rahul Gandhi to Hold Rally in Pune Today

A lot of well known and prominent faces of the party are expected to attend the gathering.

The state leadership of the party, including Nana Patole, Balasaheb Thorat, Prithviraj Chavan, Ravi Chenni and leaders of allied parties in the Maha Vikas Aghadi, will be present for the event, according to Pune Congress Chief Arvind Shinde and the party’s campaign chief for Pune city, Mohan Joshi.

The rally is being held to advocate for the Congress candidate of Pune, Ravindra Dhangekar, today (3rd May, Friday). The gathering will be held in Shri Shivaji Preparatory Military School (SSPMS) grounds near Regional Transport Office, Pune at 4 pm. 

At a press conference that took place in Congress Bhavan, Congress Chief Arvind Shinde informed that a 40 feet by 30 feet stage has been constructed, along with seats to accommodate 30,000 to 35,000 individuals. He added that originally 12,000 more seats were planned to be installed but due to security concerns, that plan was scrapped. 

There will be four entry gates to the venue, he said, with the Shahu Maharaj Statue entry being reserved for VVIPs. In order to allow individuals who are unable to find a seat to view and listen to the remarks, four LED displays are also being installed.
