Gaganyaan’s test flight made headlines today as the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) triumphantly conducted the initial trial in its journey to establish India among the select few nations capable of launching crewed spacecraft independently.

The automatic launch procedure commenced at 8.30 AM IST, but a glitch temporarily interrupted the sequence, as confirmed by ISRO chief S Somanath. The problem was swiftly resolved, leading to the successful launch of the mission at 10 AM IST on October 21. Notably, the Crew Escape System effectively detached the Crew Module from the launch vehicle. Following a controlled descent utilizing parachutes, the module safely landed in the Bay of Bengal.
