Motorists heading to Goa via the Jamboti-Chorla route should prepare for significant disruptions caused by continuous heavy rains. The adverse weather has compromised the condition of bridges over rivers and canals, prompting authorities to ban heavy vehicles on this route.

Heavy traffic from Belgaum to Goa through Chorla Ghat is being redirected via Khanapur to Anmod Ghat. Only four-wheelers are allowed on the Chorla route, while six-wheelers and larger vehicles, including those transporting milk and vegetables, must use Anmod Ghat instead.

Belgaum city police have set up barricades at Piranwadi to enforce the ban, preventing heavy vehicles from advancing further. Motorists traveling to Goa through Chorla are being rerouted to Anmod from Khanapur, with strict checks in place to ensure compliance.

The closure of the Chorla route has increased traffic on less regulated roads, potentially leading to delays. The road between Khanapur and Ramnagar on the Anmod route is also in poor condition, raising concerns about possible traffic congestion if diverted vehicles use this path.

Authorities are closely monitoring the situation to manage traffic flow and minimize delays. Travelers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and anticipate potential disruptions.
