Gold worth Rs 1.63 cr seized from Kenyan woman at Mumbai Airport
Mumbai, Oct 2 : Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) of Customs department has arrested a Kenyan woman at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International (CSMI) Airport and seized gold worth ₹1.63 crore from her, an official said here on Monday.
Acting on a tip-off, the AIU intercepted Sahra Mohammed Omar, 40, at CSMI airport on Sunday. The officials recovered gold weighing 3,404 grams hidden in her inner wear and from her body.
She was later produced in court which has remanded her to Judicial custody.
